YHWH
BIBLE PROJECT
ABOUT US

The YHWH Bible Project is an initiative of For To Thru Ministries. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the goal of spreading the Word of God and adding clarity to difficult Biblical concepts. The name of God is a key point of focus for our ministry as it is often not known or misunderstood by many in the English speaking world.
This project's goal is to re-introduce the name of God to the familiar translations of the Bible that we currently enjoy reading. Starting with the King James Version as it lies within the Public Domain, our goal is to ultimately create YHWH editions of all of the popular English language version.
Why YHWH? Rather than try to guess at a transliteration of the name of God, we are adding YHWH in all capital letters every time the corresponding four letter name is used in the bible. For the King James Version Bible, we are including the Hebrew as it appears in the Leningrad Codex, the oldest complete manuscript of the Hebrew Scriptures and the Strong's Concordance transliteration of the name.
Jehova or Yahweh? Probably neither are an exact pronunciation. The implied vowels in the Leningrad Codex lead to an approximate pronunciation of Y'hova, but there is archeological evidence that supports a Yahweh pronunciation. Use whatever is more comfortable for you.
This project isn't focused on establishing a specific pronunciation or interpretation of God's Name. Instead, our goal is to reintroduce the name of God in a non-denomination, non-doctrinal way.
While we believe that the name of God, the distinction of the different Hebrew words translated to Lord and God in the Bible, and the meaning of God's name have deep theological implications, we leave the interpretation to the reader under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
